A poster on metabolic properties of NUTRIOSE® was presented last week at the 4th International Congress on Prediabetes and Metabolic Syndrom, held in Madrid (Spain, 6-9 April 2011). Specifically the results showed the improvement of all markers of glucose metabolism and on lipid measures with NUTRIOSE®. This has attracted attendees’ attention on this soluble fiber as a potential dietary tool in the context of overweight and obesity.

As metabolic troubles, such as type II diabetes, are actually still continuing to impact the health of billions people worldwide, solutions are to be found, and nutrition is a key-part of prevention. With a committee comprising international experts as chair persons or international advisory board, such as Sir George Alberti (UK), Paul Zimmet (Australia), Steven E. Kahn (USA) or Bart Staels (France), and with renowned speakers coming from at the same time pharmaceutical, medical or nutritional fields, this congress has attracted hundreds of participants. It has provided a platform for doctors, pharmaceutical and food companies specialized in nutrition to present their studies and the many new developments in prevention of diabetes and CVD.
