Symposium on Dietary Fiber and Health

A symposium on Dietary Fiber and Health organized by ILSI Focal Point in China was held on 15 October 2010 in Beijing, China.
It was part of the 21st Great Wall International Congress of Cardiology (14-17, October) which attracted more than ten thousand professionals from twenty-eight countries all over the world.
At the Dietary Fiber and Health symposium, seven scientists from five countries were invited to present up to date information on dietary fiber and human health. Mr. Daniel WILS, Roquette's corporate nutrition project manager, gave a speech on dietary fiber and weight control, glycemic index and prolonged energy release. Roquette also laid out 4 posters focused on NUTRIOSE® effects on satiety, weight management and NUTRIOSE® prebiotic effects.
The relationship between dietary fiber and health draw more and more concern from professionals in health industry. About 150 nutritionists, dietitian, healthy professionals, food scientists and some representatives from food manufacturers such as Nestle, Coca-cola, Pepsi-co, Danisco and Roquette participated in this event. We increased the notoriety of NUTRIOSE® soluble fiber through this congress and also believe in our successes with NUTRIOSE® in health industry.
